What CLR Means
CLR flashes at one specific point inside service mode: the Clear Error Log step that sits directly after View Error Log in U-Line's menu. Holding the key while CLR is flashing wipes the unit's stored problem history. Nothing is broken when you see it — but a log cleared at the wrong moment is a genuine diagnostic setback.
Common Causes of CLR
- A previous service visit that cleared the log after a repair, which is the intended use
- Someone stepping through the service menu out of curiosity and holding the key at the CLR step
- A board replaced or restored to factory defaults, which leaves nothing in the log to read
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Nothing here needs fixing. The one thing worth knowing is that if someone has already stepped through service mode before your technician arrives, the history of an intermittent problem may be gone, so mention it rather than letting the visit start from a blank log.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Reaching the service menu on current Class-series units means taking the display apart to get at the board-mounted button, and that panel is not built for repeated removal.
- An error log is the only record a U-Line keeps of problems that come and go, so clearing it before anyone has read it can cost a second visit.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
