What P1 Means
P1 means the unit's condensate or drain pump circuit is open, so the pump can't run when called on — present on models built with a pump-assisted drain.
Common Causes of P1
- Pump power connector loose or disconnected
- Pump motor itself has failed
- Wiring problem between the control board and the pump
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Check that the pump is properly connected and that its wiring hasn't come loose since the last service.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- A pump that can't run risks water backing up inside the cabinet — worth addressing before running the machine further rather than after water damage shows up.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
