What E5 Means
E5 means the thermistor read more than 10°F above its target for over 12 straight hours.
Common Causes of E5
- Dirty condenser coil
- Compressor no longer keeping pace with demand
- Frequent door-opening in a high-traffic location adding heat load faster than the unit recovers
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Check the condenser coil for buildup before assuming a bigger problem — beverage centers in high-traffic locations (bars, entertaining spaces) tend to collect dust faster than out-of-the-way refrigeration.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- A sustained warm-running condition on a high-use beverage center is easy to write off as "it's just being used a lot," but 12+ hours out of range points to an actual problem worth diagnosing properly.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
