What E2 Means
E2 means the primary thermistor is shorted, the opposite electrical problem from E1.
Common Causes of E2
- Thermistor internally shorted
- Wiring problem letting two conductors touch
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
A resistance test on the thermistor, checking for an abnormally low reading.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Distinguishing a shorted sensor from a genuinely failing compressor needs the right test equipment, not a guess based on signs alone.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
